Ingmar Bergman would have been 100 years old on 14 July, 2018. To mark the centennial, the fourth Ingmar Bergman International Theatre Festival offered an extraordinary programme, with six new Dramaten productions and eleven international guest performances from countries such as Iran, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Brazil, France and Belgium. As patron of the Festival, HRH the Crown Princess Victoria officially opened the anniversary edition at Dramaten. A large number of Swedish cultural workers contributed to the Festival programme, enabling a large number of creative collaborations with the Bergman Foundation, the Swedish Film Institute, the Royal Opera, Moderna Museet, Parkteatern, and many others. This was manifested in a packed festival programme of discussions, films, talks and other events. A total of 17,000 people came to the anniversary festival.
